happy thanksgiving from The Cove
I’ve been living with Brittany and Cameron Schenk since June of this year at The Artist Cove. It has been so rewarding and inspiring living here with these two talented folk – creating together and challenging each other. We’re beginning to make “home videos” if you will, and I couldn’t be more excited. Enjoy our first installment of these short films of the mish-moshed, creative times we have here in this house.

A friend and I got together one afternoon while she visited Cleveland and took a few portraits of me on my birthday. It’s nice to look back and see how you were at that age. It’s something I’ve enjoyed doing for a few years.

Autumn Clambake with Dan and April O’Keefe – a family meal with friends to reconnect after the summer season. I left the evening refreshed and inspired. Thank you, for such a lovely Sunday afternoon.

What a whirlwind of a two-hour shoot with Brooke! We began downtown on Capitol Street, to overlooking the Kanawha River on steep, alley stairs to a tucked away farm near Mink Shoals. Hopefully Brooke will see how natural she is in front of the camera – when she thought otherwise! “Oh, I have no idea what I’m doing… I’m not very photogenic.” The slightly chilly, overcast weather was a perfect fit. I can’t begin to tell you how difficult it was to choose my personal favorites – thanks for such a lovely afternoon, Brooke!

Laura and I met downtown Charleston, West Virginia at Taylor Books early in the morning. Coffee and violin in hand, we spent a half an hour shooting. I got lost in Laura’s ability when she began to play in the alley, a highlight of any portrait session I’ve shot. I love her gentle spirit and child-likeness. We concluded our time together grabbing brunch at Bluegrass Kitchen – simple, and delicious.

Such a cherished afternoon with them both – despite the rainy conditions on this Sunday afternoon, we captured these images that I am so proud of. They both are truly inspiring.

our lovely behind the scenes crew for the afternoon –

What an incredible story Daniela and Michael have. This wedding has been a highlight of my summer season. Their families were so warm and welcoming, I felt right at home from the moment I arrived. This being my first time in Boston, I believe I received one of the best overviews of the city I could have asked for in those few short days! The wedding was held in Marblehead, an island outside the city. The following day we shot in multiple locations for a private portrait session with Daniela and Michael – including the lovely and known Walden Pond in Lynn. They are now settling into their new home in the UK – such a rich hertiage they have, and I was beyond blessed to be a part of it and documenting such an inspiring and life-changing day for them both. I know lasting friendships will come from my time with these lovely folk.
This is one of the longer posts I’ve done of a wedding thus far – so many treasured moments to share. A post to follow of our portrait shoot that Sunday afternoon! Enjoy.

This summer, Inlet Dance Theatre of Cleveland, OH put on an extremely powerful performance at Cain Park as part of their Summer Dance Intensive – a 6.5 week intensive, where aspiring dancers come from all oer the nation and abroad to study. I loved being a part of documenting Inlet’s incredible approach to teaching, mentoring and collaborating to create 3 new pieces of choreography on the students and integration into established Inlet repertory with the company members. Below is a small glimpse into the journey through performance week at Cain Park, beginning Monday in a first dress rehearsal to final performances Thursday afternoon and evening.
Doc Harril and Cameron Schenk – DJ and Violinist, live performance for Improvisation
