Autumn Clambake with Dan and April O’Keefe – a family meal with friends to reconnect after the summer season. I left the evening refreshed and inspired. Thank you, for such a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Inlet Dance Theatre : Cain Park 2011

This summer, Inlet Dance Theatre of Cleveland, OH put on an extremely powerful performance at Cain Park as part of their Summer Dance Intensive – a 6.5 week intensive, where aspiring dancers come from all oer the nation and abroad to study. I loved being a part of documenting Inlet’s incredible approach to teaching, mentoring and collaborating to create 3 new pieces of choreography on the students and integration into established Inlet repertory with the company members. Below is a small glimpse into the journey through performance week at Cain Park, beginning Monday in a first dress rehearsal to final performances Thursday afternoon and evening.

I have the privilege to work this is beautiful woman, Jenna-Clare, to prepare for her debut novel release this summer.
These are promotional headshots and such for her, and this upcoming week we will be venturing out for our conceptual shoot for her book cover!
We’ll also be collaborating with a local Cleveland illustration and design artist, Heidi Rolf.

These were taken this past Thursday morning in her home. We spoke together over a few cups of coffee while my brother, Stephen, filmed all about her book — which you will see very soon! Her son, William, romped around with us and brought such a dear sparkle to her eye. Her husband, Jeremy, is an acclaimed composer in the area and has written some of the most breathtaking scores for Inlet Dance Theatre that I’ve been honored to be a part of. I am in love with this entire family!

Looking forward to sharing more about her journey as an author, and enjoying her many books to come… as will you.

I took these photographs of Mikaela Clark and Mackenzie Clevenger Feburary of last year in collaboration with their piece, Beauty in Refuse. I am now collaborating with and a part of their project as a dancer and photographer,

WithOut Words : Moving Against the Sex Trade.

They have joined Kickstarter to raise $7,500 in the next 45 days to bring awareness and hope to this issue of global sex trafficking. You will be directly supporting me and other Cleveland-based artists to produce this incredible and needed work.

a taste of portland

my time spent here is always sweet
never long enough.
I went for two reasons, that really
are not reasons at all.
only to stop and
marvel.

I wrote this in my journal flying over the midwest:
“stop trying to experience, and just experience.”

this is so simple, yet so hard to grab a hold of.
laboring for rest is quite a journey,
and is something I am fighting for.

Playhouse Square: Report to the Community

This past November, I had the privilege of shooting for Playhouse Square, depicting and documenting different stories of people here in Cleveland who have had their lives changed, and in turn changed lives, through Playhouse Square. I also was strongly effected and changed through doing this work. Tonight, the stunning video film work of Think! Media was released on Playhouse Square’s website. Behind the Scenes at Playhouse Square

This past week, I had the privilege of collaborating with Think! Media documenting specific stories from the community for Playhouse Square’s Annual Report to the Community. I’m excited to share some favorite photographs from the week with you here soon. We were everywhere — from the rooftop overlooking downtown to the overwhelming interiors of the theatres.
