Emily gave me a call to take portraits of their family the day before Christian was deployed to Afghanistan.  He will be on a 6-month tour.  We were able to print a portrait for Christian to take with him that evening, and this has been one of the most special experiences I’ve had with any family.  I loved being able to shoot them in the town they call home, Charleston, and enjoy time with them in the park for awhile that afternoon.  Even though it was chilly, they warmed each other with their smiles and laughter and silly games.  They are truly a definition of what family should be.  Thank you to Emily, Christian, Rudy and Clara for letting me hang with you!  My prayers are with this precious family.

I’ve been living with Brittany and Cameron Schenk since June of this year at The Artist Cove. It has been so rewarding and inspiring living here with these two talented folk – creating together and challenging each other. We’re beginning to make “home videos” if you will, and I couldn’t be more excited. Enjoy our first installment of these short films of the mish-moshed, creative times we have here in this house.
