You may be surprised to find out how terribly cold it was this Saturday afternoon in West Virginia with Carly. She stuck it out, and we laughed and enjoyed creating these photographs together. The wind was on our side, and the countryside rolled on and on. Carly brought with her some fantastic pieces – from vintage film cameras to her great-grandmother’s 1920s feathered hat. I even put a long, beautiful braid in her hair toward the end as the setting was so fitting for it. A few favorites from our time together.
I have the privilege to work this is beautiful woman, Jenna-Clare, to prepare for her debut novel release this summer.
These are promotional headshots and such for her, and this upcoming week we will be venturing out for our conceptual shoot for her book cover!
We’ll also be collaborating with a local Cleveland illustration and design artist, Heidi Rolf.
These were taken this past Thursday morning in her home. We spoke together over a few cups of coffee while my brother, Stephen, filmed all about her book — which you will see very soon! Her son, William, romped around with us and brought such a dear sparkle to her eye. Her husband, Jeremy, is an acclaimed composer in the area and has written some of the most breathtaking scores for Inlet Dance Theatre that I’ve been honored to be a part of. I am in love with this entire family!

My dear friend, Grace, came to visit me in Cleveland from Nashville. She refreshed and lifted my spirit, and made some incredible food while being here. She is beyond lovely.

Mikaela and Mackenzie will be previewing a snippet of our upcoming production Without Words. Along with four other dancers, we will also have our friend, Cameron Schenk, accompany us with live music. This performance is a part of a gallery opening so feel free to come early and explore the other galleries.
We will be performing Friday, March 18 at 8:00 and again at 8:30 at the Survival Kit Gallery (located in the W 78th Street Galleries).

It is a blessing to have both of my most beloved art forms collide. This past Saturday afternoon, I was on both sides of the camera as a photographer and dancer for Without Words. I am collaborating and creating with an intimate group of 7 dancers to create this compelling, heart wrenching work – moving against the sex trade. I am learning and growing immensely as I am stretched in spirit beyond my comfort to portray this work as it should be.
These are a few of my favorites from our time together, showing both darkness and hope. We have quite a journey ahead of us – keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Do consider giving to the cause, so we can bring awareness in a new, needed and compelling way on the stage June 4-6, 2011 at Cleveland Public Theatre.

I took these photographs of Mikaela Clark and Mackenzie Clevenger Feburary of last year in collaboration with their piece, Beauty in Refuse. I am now collaborating with and a part of their project as a dancer and photographer,

They have joined Kickstarter to raise $7,500 in the next 45 days to bring awareness and hope to this issue of global sex trafficking. You will be directly supporting me and other Cleveland-based artists to produce this incredible and needed work.
